With classes done and finals finally out of the way, I am offically done with my undergraduate career at Northeastern University! It has been a long five years and I truly can’t believe I’m at the end of my journey at NU. It is hard to sum up my feelings at this point - i’m nervous, excited and sad all at the same time. But most importantly, I am proud and thankful for an amazing education; an education that spanned six cities and four different countries.
For the next week and a half I’m going to travel campus and Boston to complete my graduation bucket list. I have tons to see and do before heading home to D.C. for work.  I’ll be posting something new everyday. Care to come with me?

It’s getting warmer in Boston and the huskies are coming out to play! While it’s always a good time to be on campus, every husky looks forward to springtime!

Remember when the D'Amore-McKim School of Business undergraduate program was ranked 27th in the nation? This year, Bloomberg Businessweek has the DMSB at number 25! We're quickly moving up in the rankings and garnering much deserved recognition as one of the best business programs in the country. I couldn't be prouder to be a business husky!

Our world-class business school is garnering even more attention! Richard D'Amore and Alan McKim have been named two of the nation's most generous donors. Also on the list are well known names like Warren Buffett and Steven Spielberg. Their combined $60 Million dollar gift represents the largest gift in Northeastern history and is helping our students change the world already. Thank you again, Richard and Alan, and congratulations on this honor!

Reason #17 Why I Love Northeastern: NU shows tremendous support and appreciation for this country’s military. Check out this video from Northeastern’s Veterans Day ceremony. President Aoun was joined by U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano and other members of the NU community to pay tribute to our nation’s brave men and women in uniform. I’m from a military family and I am very proud of the special attention and much deserved recognition Northeastern places on it’s members of the armed services.

Opportunities Galore!

Four years after enrolling, I am still stunned by the abundance of opportunities here at Northeastern. Two of the most notable opportunities are the endless possibilities for Co-Op and the numerous chances to study abroad. You can even combine the two opportunities and undertake an International Co-Op!

Recognizing the tremendous value of an International Co-Op, NU launched a scholarship program that provides students with the financial means to undertake a Co-Op in another country.  The Presidential Global Scholars Program supports outstanding Northeastern students through competitively awarded grants to live and learn in different cultures, immerse themselves in new approaches and generate new ideas to solve complex issues. This is just one of the many opportunities Northeastern presents so that students can live out our dreams and meet our professional & social goals.

I was recently awarded the Presidential Global Scholarship to undertake a Co-Op at the Consulate General of the United States in Edinburgh, Scotland. Essentially, I was able to split an amazing six month Co-Op with the State Department in half: the first at headquarters in Washington, D.C., and the second out at an American diplomatic post! I understand this is a truly unique opportunity and I could not be more grateful for these positions. Financially, I would not have been able to undertake this scholarship without the support of the Presidential Global Scholarship and can attest to the importance and impact of this award.

I am very proud and honored Northeastern has allowed me the opportunity to further explore the “Business of Diplomacy”. By the end of this adventure I am confident I will be adequately prepared for a fulfilling career in public service. Just like thousands of others on this campus, my story is a testament to “The Northeastern Difference.”

About

Avatar Hey Huskies!

My name is Terrell and I’m a proud Senior here at Northeastern University's D'Amore-McKim School of Business. I grew up in a little town called Washington, D.C. and I’m a Business Administration major and International Affairs minor here at NU.I love music, I love sports, I love business & commerce, I love foreign affairs, and I LOVE being a husky!

I am proud knowing that I’m a student enrolled in one of the best business schools in the country. The combination of Northeastern’s Co-Op program, facilitates, and amazing faculty and staff uniquely positions me to realize any and all of my goals. Have any questions? I’ll be sure to point you in the right direction. Whether you’re a potential business major or not, ask me any and all questions about what it takes and what it means to be a husky. Here at Northeastern, we mean business and make history!
